Resume: Et systematisk review af syv randomiserede kontrollerede forsøg med hoftebeskyttere for at afgøre, om disse reducerer hoftefrakturer hos ældre. Forsøgene vedrørte både hjemmeboende og ældre i plejeboliger. På baggrund af reviewet er der kun lidt evidens, som støtter brugen af hoftebeskyttere hos hjemmeboende. Hvorvidt det ser anderledes ud for ældre i plejeboliger kræver yderligere undersøgelser.
